Next step.... Diploma in Computing

Visible to anyone in the world

After much thought and discussion with a few peers, I've decided to continue on to the next part of the course, and have booked a slot on both M263 and M255 (Building Blocks of Software, and OO Programming in Java respectively).

Being a software tester by day, and a late starter to higher education, i've contemplated the worth of doing a degree, as it may take me another 5-6 years to complete. That being said, I've decided that the long-slog should eventually pay off, if nothing more than to secure a higher paying managerial position when I'm 30+.

So, it's back to the books this autumn. :) Pleased to have completed the Certificate however.

Best of luck to all, and see you in the student rooms later in the year.

Hi Tim

You should be OK with M255 if you found TT282 OK. The pace isn't too fast
and most of the students on my course who didn't have much programming
experience seemed to keep up fine. [Exam next week!] If you're doing M255
alongside M263 [which is probably a good idea] you'll find, I hope, a nice
synergy.

Good luck, and keep up the blog posts!

Hi Neil,

Thanks for the comment. Glad to hear that M255/263 will go hand in hand, wasn't sure if I'd be taking on too much with these as this will be the first time I do 2xlevel 2 courses at once. Can see a few late nights on the horizon :)

Will check out your site when I get home - everything's blocked at work (/sigh).

Cheers,

Tim
